GREATER WASHINGTON PUSH HANDS GATHERING
This quarterly edition of this long standing event will take place at Cabin John Regional Park on Saturday April 1, 2023 from 1-6 PM. Ladies only are invited to begin their Push Hands practice from 1-2 PM . Then all others from 2 -6PM .
The Tai Chi Court is opened to any and all participants. This free outdoor event has continued to attract practitioners from up and down the east coast for almost 20 years. Joanne Chang has kept it going since the initiator of this quarterly event, David Chen, passed on in 2005. We plan to participate and hope many of you will put it in your schedule to attend also. KUOSHU LEGACY TOURNAMENT- SUNDAY APRIL 23rd
The 16th Annual Legacy Tournament will again take place at the Delta Hotel in Hunt Valley MD. This invitational event serves as a warmup event for the larger Kuoshu International Tournament that takes place at the same venue during the weekend of July 28-30, 2023. It is a good practice event for several events which take place this Summer and Fall. Discounted online registration end the last day of March so register asap if you are planning on competing. NEW HYATTSVILLE LOCATION DOING WELL
Our move from Takoma Park to Hyattsville, MD was completed on March 2, 2023 beginning with our Community Tai Chi Push Hands gathering. It continues to take place from 7:30-9:30 pm each Thursday evening . This free community gathering focuses on developing the traditional skills of using the least amount of force to accomplish the maximum effect (Using 4 ounces to deflect a thousand pounds).
On Saturdays from 10 am-12 noon we continue with our Tai Chi Form and basics class at 10 am followed by Tai Chi Pushing Hands instruction at 11am.
Beginning at 12 noon, we begin the Xing-I Chuan / Bagua Zhang training, as well as our advanced practitioner training block which runs until 2 PM.
